Sharon N. Thomas holds a wealth of experience in medical communications, having served in various editorial capacities, with managerial roles, for more than 15 years. This includes continuing medical education, medical journal publishing, and pharmaceutical marketing.As an editor, Sharon ensures the textual integrity of every asset created in-house. While checking for spelling, grammar, syntax, and punctuation of text, she confirms information is consistently cited and organized. Sharon also tests the functionality of electronic media for efficiency, intuitiveness, and user-friendly navigation, and she customizes the organization of information according to her clients’ specific style preferences while also holding expertise in AMA style. Sharon holds an undergraduate degree in humanities and science from University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and a master of science degree in professional and technical communication from New Jersey Institute of Technology. She is certified by the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences (BELS) and has earned her Essential Skills certificate for medical editing, awarded by the American Medical Writers Association.As an advocate for humanitarian work, mental health, and spiritual care, she holds 2 other masters degrees that support her nonprofit work in intercultural studies and pastoral counseling. She has been privileged to intern and volunteer at the Mental Health Association of Essex and Morris and in other churches. Her pastoral counseling degree was earned in honor and in memory of her late uncle and mentor, psychiatrist and pharmacist Dr. Shibu G. Kuncheriah. She has also earned her Empower ministry certificate, awarded by the Metro District of the C&MA and Alliance Theological Seminary.Sharon is a member of the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences, the American Medical Writers Association, and the American Copyeditors Society.
