Responsible for establishing the program management office (PMO) governance, roles and responsibilities for legal entity and operating model integration activities for a $15BN acquisition. Let the integration of the first set of legal entities integrated for a 24 month program.

Work with the senior finance leadership team to create the finance organizations future state vision, strategy and roadmap and to create governance and process to prioritize and sequence initiatives to ensure execution.

Senior Director US Accounting Shared Services (2016-Current) Created first-ever US-based Accounting Shared Services organization. Defined the strategy and mission, and US operating model; re-aligned 33 resources across six organizations, and 4 locations under single team. Centralized US and/or global accounting for ~400 journal entries, 500 account reconciliations and 200 intercompany billings monthly. Created metrics to define service level and quality. Leverage outsource service provider where feasible. Led the implementation of global policy, processes and software tool (Blackline) to improve account reconciliation and journal entry process, governance and controls. Led several total US accounting process improvements inducing 25% reduction in manual journal entries and elimination of one workday from the close process.

Director Accounting Center of Excellence (2014–2016) Led the creation and implementation of AbbVie’s post-spin finance operating model for the US-based corporate functions. Defined roles, processes and tools for the Accounting Center of Excellence. Owned global finance policy governance as well as authored Account Reconciliation and Journal Entry policies. Established balance sheet governance and controls including quality reviews and quarterly management reviews for the new company.Director SEC Reporting (2012–2014) Joined AbbVie Q4 2012, leading the formation and execution of AbbVie’s first ever external reporting team. Implemented processes and controls required to file AbbVie’s Form 10, 10K, 10Q’s and earnings releases as well as implemented accounting for post-spin equity transitions, stock-based compensation and pension.

Director corporate accounting and total company consolidations - Motorola Moblity, Inc. Responsible for global close and consolidation processes, accounting for corporate business financial statements, company FAS123R accounting and reporting.

Project lead for separation of global finance organization aligned to spinoff of Motorola Mobility from parent company. Responsible for planning and execution of all aspects of finance function project to create separate global finance organization for spinco. Reported status to senior management. Responsible for status reporting and problem resolution. Required high degree of planning, communication and inlfuence within finance and across other functions.

Program Lead for corporation wide finance transformation initiative sponsored by CFO impacting 1200 finance associates. Lead process change and IT solution delivering enhanced planning, reporting and analysis capabilities. Developed and led finance definitions process for over 400 enterprise wide financial statement line and key performance indicators.

Managed all corporate accounting and reporting functions including consolidations, internal management reporting and SEC reporting for six business segments. Delivered accurate and timely financial consolidation for the corporation, including accounting for discontinued operations, severance accrual accounting and disclosures, inter-company sales and profit eliminations, corporate benefit and other reserves, calculation and analysis of corporate effective tax rate, external financial reporting including earnings releases and quarterly and annual SEC reporting of financial statements, accompanying footnotes, Management’s Discussion and Analysis, Proxy and Annual Report filings.

Responsible for accounting close and consolidation of business results, management reporting, balance sheet reserve reviews and SEC segment reporting requirements into Corporate, monthly, annual and 5 year planning.
