I focus my law practice on helping independent marketing and creative services agencies protect and monetize their intellectual capital, and manage the legal implications of their marketing and advertising work. I provide strategic counsel on legal issues faced by these firms including:- copyright and content protection,- licensing of creative content, - trademark / brand protection matters, - social media, content marketing and influence marketing issues, - agency service agreements, - advertising regulatory compliance, and- contest and promotion compliance and review.I frequently speak and present to professional organizations, advertising agencies, and marketing teams, and have created and presented numerous training sessions to industry professionals that enable them to recognize legal issues and protect their valuable work and rights. My national speaking engagements have included presentations at these national organizations and conferences: INBOUND, Content Marketing World, MAGNET Global Agency Network, and Agency Management Roundtable.I also created the Agency Protection System, an agency legal toolkit product (agencylegalprotection.com), and am an approved participant on the 4A's Legal Consultants Panel, and a Past President of the American Ad Federation (AAF) Cleveland. I am also the creator and host of The Innovative Agency Podcast, launched in 2018, and designed to help marketing agency leaders answer the question: “What’s Next?” in their industry.
