The program begins with four weeks of training at the Roxbury Center for Financial Empowerment in Dudley Square which includes computer skills, job readiness, customer service, conflict resolution, and information on likely job paths in the hospitality industry. Participants receive a free MBTA pass, job placement assistance, free financial coaching, credit repair, and tax preparation, and may qualify for a Twin Account which helps build savings and credit scores. Participants who complete the program also earn a free laptop. EMPLOYER RELATIONS LIAISON• Cultivation of relationships with employers in Private and Public arena: including Government, Non-profits, Medical, Research, Computer Technology, Engineering, Legal, etc. • Analyze and identify companies to target for employment opportunities for career center customers. • Provide outreach and marketing to employers in targeted fields for job and internship development. • Implemented employer panels to educate the job seekers on changes in industry and technology, economic trends and to provide tips to job seekers on maximizing their competitiveness.• Collaborated with staff and employers in the planning and delivery of employer engagement events and programs.CAREER COUNSELING• Provide comprehensive instruction on career development and job search strategies to students, graduate students, alumni and adult customers at a Commonwealth of Massachusetts Career Center. • Coach customers on career planning, self-assessment, resume development, networking, professional behavior, appropriate use of social media tools, employment and salary negotiation, job retention skills, etc. CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT/DELIVERY• Develop curriculum to prepare individuals with the skills and techniques required to enhance their ability to secure employment in the 21st century.PRESENTATIONS• Conducted professional development workshops at local and national conferences on employer engagement, program design, and employment success. • Presented to US Department of Labor work group on a model of employment services for people with mental health issues. DISABILITY SERVICES• Develop employment opportunities for persons with significant barriers to employment.• Adviser to employers, job seekers and on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), job accommodations/modifications, and government programs and services.

•Provided career counseling and return to work services to employees and employers who experienced work related injuries in the states of Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. •Assisted the injured worker to determine a new career direction by utilizing current medical information, transferable skills, stated career goals, past occupations, educational history and current labor market information. •Advisor to the employer and employees on ADA legislation, job accommodations/modifications and assistive technology. •Trainer on Diversity and Inclusion in the work place, state statutes on vocational rehabilitation practice, and customer service.

•Member of the Recruiting Team that facilitated new hires at targeted companies. •Instructed job seekers in resume and cover letter development, interviewing skills, networking and salary negotiation

•Administered career interest testing, provided vocational guidance and career planning for high school students, college students and individuals with disabilities.
