With nearly 20 years of professional experience across the United States, Dan is equally comfortable working on site-scale interventions as well as large master planning efforts for a multitude of project types including: parks and open space, habitat restoration, trail systems, public institutions, academic campuses, new communities, public utilities, and urban infill. Raised on a cattle ranch in southern Arizona, Dan is passionate about preserving open space through a minimalist and strategic approach to design intervention. He also prefers projects where architectural and site systems incorporate green infrastructure and cultural history because these offer the greatest opportunity for educating the public about the ecological and human elements interacting on every site. He is well versed in GIS analysis and digital media and, with his background in cultural anthropology, adept at incorporating the human element into every design.
