This role is to ensure the technical vitality and architectural integrity of core code in an agile development organization. My component area includes: * Codegen (prior component owner): back end of the SQL compiler * Runtime: execute the Query Execution Plan to produce SQL results * Data Services (prior component owner): perform efficient scalar operations on SQL data. * National Language Services: perform efficient codeset and collation handling of SQL string data* BLU coding standards lead: bring C++ templates, exception handling, STL, etc. into C code base* 1st Line Technical Manager for 10 years. I passed the manager baton mid 2014 to allow a fresh direction to the team. I still relish my mentoring/influencing role.* Hiring manager. I especially enjoy working with CO-OPs and Interns to help folks who are new to the field start and grow their careers.* Lab Advocate to enable key IBM customers get the most out of IBM's DB2, BLU, and Information Management software.I worked on many interesting DB2 BLU projects (you can find most of these in our DB2 BLU Information Centre), such as:* Architect and owner for BLU nested loop joins* Architect and owner for codepage 819 (codeset ISO8859-1) support in BLU* Enhancing ETL processing for BLU, especially index access for SAP BW on BLU applications* Architect and coSolution owner for BLU hash joins in the first release of BLU* Zigzag join codegen and runtime lead developer* Currently Committed lead developer in upper compiler and runtime* ROW CHANGE TIMESTAMP lead developer in upper compiler and runtime* Oracle Compatibility Solution Owner for SQL Compatibility items* Scrollable Cursor developer across all components
