I provide leadership and direction for Digital Learning Services at UC Berkeley. The unit includes Manager of Instructional Design and Media, Manager of Learning Environments and Tools, Digital Learning/Instructional Design Specialists, Digital Media Specialists, Academic Cloud Technology Service Managers, and Student Support Specialists. In addition to designing, producing and technically implementing digital learning experiences for learners, we provide instructional delivery support for faculty, instructors and TAs. We also produce graduate, undergraduate and alternative credentialed online and hybrid courses.

At the Berkeley Resource Center for Online Education, I provided direction and leadership to a large unit who produces and supports online learning for undergraduate, graduate, certificate programs offered at UC Berkeley and UC Berkeley Extension.

I was promoted within six months of working at UC Berkeley Extension. I managed production and development of online courses while building a team of high performing Instructional Designers and Media Specialists.

I streamlined production processes and workflows with the introduction and implementation of Project Management practices and tools to increase efficiency of production and quality of courses.

I performed day-to-day management of a large website migration project including priorities, objectives, deliverables and issues across various departments within two companies, Internet Broadcasting and Cox Media Group.

I provided technology curriculum and integration guidance for teachers, district administrators, Texas State Board of Education, and the general public.

I managed implementation and communication of NCLB, Title II, Part D EETT grants at the state level and reported out to Texas Commissioner of Education, Texas State Legislature, and US Department of Education. I also monitored and reported status of a multi-year US Department of Education research grant.

I planned, created, delivered and assessed instructional technology implementation training and professional development for faculty, staff and administrators in an urban, diverse, high poverty district of ~46,000 students, 4600 personnel, and 88 schools. I managed assigned EETT district technology initiatives and projects. Designed Adobe Flash math curriculum, games, and assessments using original drawings and voice overs.

I successfully incorporated research-based instruction in literature and composition while integrating instructional technology to enhance teaching and learning. I also served as school’s Lead Technology Educator and supported and trained colleagues in instructional technology.
