Develop and implement media campaigns directed toward populations at high risk for tobacco use. Coordinate group cessation programs for organizations. Provide technical assistance to worksites and college campuses interested in developing and implementing a tobacco-free campus policy. Conduct outreach to increase awareness among health care providers and community organizations about the Illinois Tobacco Quitline. Selected Accomplishments:  Successfully co-wrote for the competitive REALITY, IL grant that led to an additional $30,000 being awarded to the Tobacco Control & Prevention Program.  Developed a tobacco-free campus toolkit to assist Will County Employers in implementing a tobacco-free policy.  Succeeded the target goal for the Illinois Tobacco Free Communities grant objective to increase the number of health care providers who are aware of the Illinois Tobacco Quitline.  Worked with new media outlets including Titan 360 and All Over Media, to implement media campaigns promoting the Illinois Tobacco Quitline in hard to reach high risk areas.

Conducted public health surveys, inspections, and re-inspections to determine eligibility for licensure, certification, and permitting, and assessed compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Inspections spanned multiple program areas including private water supply and waste water disposal systems, the disposal of solid waste, food processing, food service, retail food store, vector control, tanning and body art facilities. Organized and conducted training programs in environmental health practices. Advised civic and other officials in the development of environmental health laws and regulations.

Conducted needs assessment to identify the number of tobacco retailer licensing ordinances, youth access laws, tobacco-free parks and recreation, and tobacco-free worksites. Developed tobacco policy to track pdf files of identified policies in Will County. Results of needs assessment led to the development of GIS maps created to track the number of tobacco-free parks and recreation policies.

Completed routine health inspections for swimming pools, tanning, and body art facilities. Investigated nuisance complaints, issued notices and citations to obtain compliance with local health and safety regulations. Completed reports and detailed paperwork on results of investigations. Attended public health conferences and trainings on State and Local health and safety regulations.
