I am an experienced Educational Coordinator and Program Director with demonstrated history of working in primary/secondary education, professional training & coaching industry. Skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Youth Development, Leadership Coaching, and Educational Consulting. Extremely creative expert at professional development presentations in Social Emotional Learning, Early Literacy and Numeracy, Family Engagement, and Data Analysis.With over 23 years of experience, I hold a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education from Alabama State University, a Master’s of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University, and an Educational Leadership, Tier I certification, from the University of West Georgia. Throughout my career, I have served in many capacities including Pre-K through 8th-grade teacher, teacher mentor, instructional leader, academic coach, and summer learning program director. After having been afforded the opportunity to work in three Metro Atlanta school districts which include nine elementary schools, I understand the importance of cultivating positive relationships for building capacity amongst all stakeholders.In 2013, I launched the Horizons Atlanta Affiliate at Atlanta Technical College as site director. Our career-focused theme transforms the traditional classroom into a mini community and gives scholars a first-hand understanding of how various occupations impact their neighborhoods. The ATC program is home to a challenging, engaging, and fun curriculum of daily applications in math, reading, writing, and science to build confidence and reduce summer learning loss. Scholars also participate in upcycling, Spanish, art, fitness & wellness, music and drama classes.
