My name is Shashank Phansikar, I am a mechanical engineer from VIT Vellore.VIT equipped me with a proficiency in various fields like management, thermal engineering, manufacturing and mechanics along with various softwares like Fusion360, Ansys and AutoCADHowever, I particularly felt drawn towards material science. Materials Science focuses on identifying and developing materials that can endure the specific physical demands of a given application.These physical conditions are different for different applications and so are the materials that can fit the job. This investigative nature of material science excites me the most about this field. There’s no greater satisfaction than the joy of zeroing in on a material that not only meets the physical demands of an application but is also cost-effective and as sustainable as possible.I am currently earning a Master's degree in this field from the prestigious University of Manchester which is ranked 18th worldwide (QS - Material Science).I was awarded the Bicentary Global Futures Scholarships from my universityMy future goal is earning a PhD
