I am Founder/Executive Director of SJKGeostrategic Advisory, a security and risk consultancy based in Singapore.SJKGeostrategic Advisory provides client services relating to geopolitics (especially Southeast Asia and great power competition), navigating the politics of Southeast Asia, risk, hybrid threats (disinformation, foreign interference), technology (cyber, AI), and issues relating to extremism and polarisation (as well as countermeasures).Before this, at the S.Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), I held until July 2023 the appointment of Head of the Centre of Excellence for National Security and Executive Coordinator, Future Issues and Technology.My earlier career was in the Administrative Service of Singapore’s government. During my time in government, I was posted to various Ministries, with most of my experience being in the security sector in the Ministry of Defence. I completed a D.Phil in History at Balliol College, Oxford University (2001). Prior to that, I studied Modern History and English at St Hugh’s College.
