I like building systems that work, processes that nurture the student to face industry and higher academics by building conceptual, professional, and ethical competencies. Not skills. Competencies are a life's methodology. Skills, not so much. Yeah yeah. you're skeptical. But as you can see, I got the conversation started.Consequently, you'll find my students and the institutions turn out differently.I'm also invested in the aesthetics and its ideological relationships with visibility-invisibility. Why is it, I ask myself, that the rapidly changing technology continues to leave marginalized communities disempowered? My recent book, in part, sheds some light.And of course, once a journo, always one. I feel for journalism. Building a centre for global media that can build new theory, conduct outreach activities and nurture critical thinking, be an advocate for good media, redefine more inclusive goals for media ... oh, all that good exciting stuff. That's the next thing I hope will find me.
