• Selected for this role based on successful track record as Acting Department Chair and entrepreneurial experience. Built Center from scratch, led design of its space in Hayden Hall, and designed all of its programs. (Center website: www.northeastern.edu/sherman). Over 1,000 students went through the Center's courses and programs between 2013-2018.• Coordinated fundraising effort to secure additional $2.5 million gift in 2018 for expansion of the Sherman Center to more than double its physical space and programs.• Conceived and implemented Center’s product-themed core offerings in customer-driven innovation, product design, prototyping, and mature product development, each of which is a semester long course. These courses began as pilots and are now being offered in multiple section format collectively engaging over a hundred students each semester. • Led fundraising effort to create an engineering-focused alumni mentoring program (and associated full-time staff coordinator position) for entrepreneurial students, faculty, staff, and alumni.• Created a Minor in Entrepreneurial Engineering with versions for both engineering and non-engineering students.• Created a specialized co-op program for engineering students to advance early stage entrepreneurial concepts via prototyping and customer validation. Half of past and current participants of this program successfully entered MassChallenge. 75% of participants created viable businesses by graduation.• Oversaw creation and growth of a student group named Generate which is dedicated to product design, development, and prototyping. Members of this group are being actively recruited by Apple, Amazon Robotics, SharkNinja, and other companies.
