Senior member of the Engineering team for the Nutanix Frame cloud-first VDI product – providing architectural oversight, developing new features, working with Sales and Support staff in ensuring customer success- Rearchitected the Frame streaming protocol based on WebRTC/UDP, increasing streaming performance by reducing latency, improving audio/video sync, and vastly simplifying the network configuration necessary to set up a VDI session. It also simplified the development of new features like webcam and mic redirection from the user’s endpoint to applications (like Teams and Zoom) running on the virtual desktop.- Conceptualized and implemented a solution to stream SteamVR-based desktop VR applications (like Flight Simulator VR) from a remote virtual desktop to the Oculus VR device browser (with WebXR remoting), enabling a new use case for the product.- Built a multi-user version of the product based on Windows Remote Desktop Services by integrating components from the Chromotif product, thus enabling a new use case.
