As Public Affairs Manager, I support the management and coordination of key stakeholder relationships along the line of route, including MPs, their constituency offices and local authorities, as well as a myriad of political, business, specialist and community stakeholders.

As a Board Member of the Pinner House Society, I play an active role in shaping the organisation’s strategic direction and ensuring effective governance. My responsibilities include contributing to policy development, financial oversight, and risk management, ensuring the society’s long-term sustainability and adherence to legal and regulatory standards. I work collaboratively with fellow board members to review operational performance, approve budgets, and guide the overall direction of the society.In addition to governance, I actively engage with the tenant community and external stakeholders, fostering positive relationships and advocating for the needs of our residents. I participate in regular board meetings and subcommittees, providing input on key decisions, and supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of housing and services provided by Pinner House. My role emphasises leadership, strategic planning, and a commitment to community well-being.

Debating today is considered a recipe for conflict and division, leading to shouting matches on twitter and misleading rhetoric on television. Yet the ability to understand and engage with both sides of an argument with empathy and openness, wherever we personally stand, is crucial to effective and ethical decision-making. We are working to restore the good name of debate with a year-round training programme with over 100 members and a network of more than 6,000 supporters. We will then give you a platform to lead by example in our monthly debates, that are free to attend and open to all, so you can show those in search of a more civil way to examine our differences what it really means to be a great debater.

E2E is one of the UK’s leading business membership organisations, representing 23,000 scale-up businesses and over 3,000 investors. As the Director of Communications, I provided leadership to the communications and marketing team.I oversaw a demanding schedule which included putting on one event per week. Our events schedule involved working with some of the most senior business leaders in the UK including Lord Karan Bilimoria (Founder - Cobra Beer & President of the CBI), Simon Woodroffe OBE (Founder - Yo! Sushi) and Lord Bird (Founder – Big Issue) which reached a combined audience of over 2,000 SMEs in 2020. I sat on the Senior Management Board with the CEO and COO and collaborated with them to shape the future of the company.

During 2020, I was also Secretary to the Business Action Council, a coalition of the UK’s largest Business representative organisations. I lead on co-ordinating the policy workstreams and liaising with Government departments including BEIS, Treasury and Number 10. The work of the BAC shaped government policy by providing a framework for what became Bounce Back Loans, Flexi-Furlough, and the Short-Time Working Initiative – which went on to support tens of thousands of businesses and millions of jobs.

Entrepreneurial Giving (EG) is a movement to nurture a new generation of purpose-led businesses. What starts with a simple pledge to donate a percentage of their exit proceeds to charity, becomes a powerful community – supporting tomorrow’s entrepreneurs as they start and grow.

Whilst at Conscience I have developed an extensive portfolio of lobbying activity which has included publishing the report Conflict Pool: Non-Military Security and presenting it to politicians across the political spectrum, securing sponsors for Early Day Motion 350, working with MPs to draft Peace Tax legislation to be read in Parliament and bringing together conflict prevention experts and Parliamentarians for an event in Westminster to discuss post-conflict reconstruction and long-term peacebuilding.I have developed influence across the FCO, DFID and the MoD and have been consulting with them about the strategic priorities for the UK government’s £1 Billion Conflict Stability and Security Fund and advising them on how best to implement conflict prevention policy in fragile states.In addition to this I have written extensively on development aid, peacebuilding, energy security across the political sphere at Lib Dem Voice, Labour List, Bright Blue (Progressive Conservatives), Conflict and Security, The Fabian Society and the Huffington Post.My lobbying and political work has seen me develop an extensive network of MPs, MEPs, PPCs, Councillors, journalists, civil servants and decision makers from across the private and public sector. I also draft all press releases, edit Conscience’s peacebuilding blog, and write all communications to our 1,600 members and artwork all campaigning materials using PagePlus X 7.

As Campaigns Agent I take the lead in designing literature and building and managing the team at election time. I also quickly respond to political developments as they happen in the press, in election literature and preparing briefings for radio and television appearances. I also have experience of five election campaigns and have been prepared to work long hours to achieve high targets in voter contact, data capture, literature volume and postal voter sign up.Policy research has involved putting together figures from the Department for Education and West Berkshire Council Planning Department to identify a lack of school provision for future housing developments. This formed the basis of our Parliamentary Candidate's campaign ‘Education for a Fairer Future’ arguing that educational planning was inadequate to meet West Berkshire Council's core strategy for local development. This developed into a further campaign as figures from the Department for Education revealed the 'attainment gap' of poorer students against their wealthier counterparts in West Berkshire is among the worst in the country. This culminated in a visit from Schools Minister David Laws MP and an event that brought him together with key educational stakeholders from throughout West Berkshire.I have advised the Opposition West Berkshire Council Group on all aspects of policy including tax, planning, health & well-being and service provision. I addition to this I have advised them on media management, campaign themes and social media.I have used my time at West Berkshire Liberal Democrats to develop relationships with key parliamentarians and their staff including, but not limited to, Vince Cable MP, Steven Webb MP, David Laws MP, Mike Hancock MP, Mike Thornton MP, Catherine Bearder MEP and Baroness Shirley Williams. This network has proven useful for developing campaigns events, policy expertise and fund-raising.

I maintained delivery networks, increased our engagement with community groups and produced Haringey Focus leaflet copy. I also provided presentations to the Haringey Council group on the feedback from residents' surveys on refuse collection and constituency boundaries changes and advised them on policy.

Produced a policy report of the proportionality of the 2011 local elections. I criticised the disjointed relationship between votes cast and seats won - furthering the case for electoral reform in local government. I used this methodology to present a well reasoned report that could withstand academic scrutiny.
