I am delighted to share that I’m joining EY New Zealand’s Cybersecurity Consulting team today!.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, my role is responsible for providing technical expertise to the development and ongoing support of our network. Challenge and complexity comes with the numerous facilities and clients dependability of our services. • Technical lead to a team of five Senior Network Engineers to ensure the environment is optimized and can support our customers at all times.• Long term strategic plans to implement a secure network with solid contingency plans.• Ensure appropriate availability, capacity, reliability and security of the network.• Business partnering with our key stakeholders and vendors.• Management of a team of Network Engineers incorporating all HR related activities.• Liaison and assistance to other Business Units with regards to implementations, services and support where required.• Ensuring that deliverables and deadlines are met on all Plan B base projects and re-activate work.• Liaison, Escalations and Relationship building with Network Operators, 3rd Party service providers and ISP’s.• Identifying and providing information to the Management team e.g. Trend Analysis and Forecasting.• Accurate and complete documentation of all system changes as per the change control process, including diagrams of networks and system operations.• Implement disaster recovery procedures for all networks, VPN and network security services.• Incident Management, identifying emerging incidents and ensure their prompt resolution.

My primary role comprised of facilitating Secure and Controlled connectivity within the PWC Africa territory. Primary areas of responsibility included Internet and VPN access, DMZ facilities and Network Authentication Control. Primary networking components comprises of Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN gateways, ISE infrastructure, MDM facilities and other secure access facilities.Deployment, design and administration of Corporate Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention facilities.Administrated existing VPN facilities, based on public (Web) and APN access.Deployment design and administration of Cisco ISE environment, including Wi-Fi, Mobile and Wired Networks within the company. Deployment and administration of the MobileIron (MDM) facilities, alongside the ISE environment and worked in close conjunction with the Mobile Application/Collaboration teams (Traveler, etc.) Investigated and proposed improved technology solutions and methodology, through innovation. Ensured configuration and operational aspects of all facilities within this department were documented and the necessary deployment diagrams were made available (BCP). Technical lead on related projects, ensured projects progress according to time lines and budget, while delivering the required solutions within the given periods and remaining aligned with the necessary business units.Key to provisioning the necessary motivations, assisted with the decision making process and implementation of new technology systems. Investigated and provisioned alternative solutions and methodology based on Global Standards and Business requirements.Worked with both Senior Management and Systems Administrators to facilitate enhanced and secure implementations, while maintaining the envisaged IT strategy.
