I am currently working as a Cad technician for Blatchford’s. I have 20 years experience in this field. I feel very comfortable liasing with Orthotists, which enables me to ensure the best quality product is delivered to each patient. This could be face to face or by other means of contact, but I am also confident in interpreting the terminology and anatomy associated with the manufacture of Orthotic products. I am a fully trained plastic technician, by which I mean I can manufacturea wide range of orthotics such as Kafo’s, spinal braces, Afo’s and Ffo’s using a number of different materials. As well as being a skilled plastic technician I possess the ability toManufacture orthotics using Cad cam software and an excellent understanding of Paromed and Delcam systems. I also have a basic working knowledge of the Shoe master system. I am also a health and safety representative and have undertaken specific training for risk assessments. I am happy to work as part of a team or individually. With my current role as lead technician i manage the work flow within the department and move from system to system when needed.I have learned to work to specific targets and time frames and I work well within my manufacturing targets and mostly surpass these as well. I am always willing to take on relevant training if needed to improve my current skills. I feel confident enough in my field that I would be able to contribute ideas to improve productivity, quality and hopefully reduce production costs.
