Altogether I have over a quarter century of experience as an educator, coach, mentor and programme co-ordinator. My specialty areas are language arts and social studies, with highly specialized knowledge in the area of speech and debate. I have taught 19 different courses, mentored 20 student teachers, and have created 5 school initiated courses. I have chaired various committees and groups and have held memberships in various professional associations, including, The Manitoba Association of Teachers of English, The Reading Council of Greater Winnipeg and The Manitoba Social Studies Teachers Association. Presently, I am a member of The English Language Arts Provincial Standards Exam Test Development Committee, for the province of Manitoba. As current Head of the English Language Arts Department, I co-ordinate and oversee the E.L.A. programme for grades 7-12, at my school. I am a wordsmith, who is passionate about language and learning.
