The Don Lavoie Fellowship is a competitive, renewable, and online fellowship program for advanced undergraduates, recent graduates, and early-stage graduate students. Fellowships are open to students from any discipline who are interested in studying key ideas in political economy and learning how to utilize these ideas in academic and policy research.

Move, South Africa is an initiative that captures my passion for South Africa. I believe that by telling stories instead of forcing ideas on people Move, South Africa can encourage people to think further than what they have been told to think. Move, South Africa aims to motivate South Africans to stop being stagnant and to start moving. We are partnering with two students from 2018. The aim is to provide holistic support that is not limited to tuition only. We will be focusing on mentorship, transportation, food and entertainment support as well. Through this holistic support we believe the students will have been fully developed and will be ready to make a big impact when they start their careers. www.movesouthafrica.co.za

Ideas were gathered for innovative ways to empower clients to make better financial decisions. After evaluating the pool of ideas there were 5 innovators chosen to go through the ideation phase and develop the idea into a feasible project. The innovators then all had an opportunity to pitch their ideas in an internal 'Shark Tank' to a panel put together from different business units in Old Mutual. There was a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize given on the day. The ideas are then adopted by a business and further developed with the aim to implement. This was a truly valuable experience and the skills attained have been, and will continue to be beneficial.
