My role is required to provide an efficient standard financial service within the functional scope of the position, which meets all relevant requirements of Service Partnership agreements and enhances relationships with the clients. By acting as a technical specialist, the role includes providing a range of quality services to the business unit and clients. ServiceFirst acts as a shared service provider for the agencies of NSW Government. As an accounting officer, I am heavily involved in ensuring that month end processing deadlines are achieved, in order to comply to designated corporate standards for the currency of the ledgers and suspense account balances as well as required reporting requirements are adhered to. Key Responsibilities • Maintain current and accurate General Ledger accounts by managing data integrity and the timeliness of related transaction processing and recording of master data changes. • Aid in preparation and resolution of complex reconciliation matters as well as broader problem resolution within the technical function, whereby defined financial processes and guidelines are followed including adherence to internal control. Key Achievements• Consistently completing high volumes of reconciliations within a short time frame (30 reconciliations, including bank and payroll costing, within a working week. Each Reconciliation having a maximum of 5 reconciling items)• Selected to act as a Business Analyst for the Service Delivery team (cumulative period of 2 months), during which I was responsible to support senior subject matter experts to undertake specialised projects and is responsible for the provision of considered advice and professional delivery of related services.

This role was part of the NSW Government’s JumpStart Cadetship Program, of which it transitioned to a permanent role upon 2 years of service. The role was required to provide quality business support to engineers, architect and technical officers. In addition I was required to manage a range of administrative activities within the office, including recrds management of the Human Resources documents, relating to leave and recruitmentKey Responsibilities • Analyse and report project financial and accounting activities • Monitor costs, revenue, resource allocations and other imperatives periodically per project basis to ensure project staff deliver projects on time and budgetKey Achievements• Assist Service Line Leaders and project controllers on the application of the administrative and financial imperatives, particularly Work-In-Progress (WIP) and Staff utilisation rate reviews • Recognised for my work on streamlining month-end deadlines, relating to invoice processing and labour costing. This resulted in accurate monthly reflection of projects financial status, thus providing accurate data for monthly financial performance

My role was to assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and income tax for a clientele ranging from individuals to corporations. I would help with prepare in processing workflow in tax accounting procedures and also other tax issues involved. The role required me to liaise with clients and help organise their taxation obligationsKey Responsibilities • Preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS) for the stipulated period reporting Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Wages• Synchronisation of client’s information on MYOB and year-end financial reports• Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) to ensure clients nature of business are in adherence to taxation law (e.g. Capital and Share market investments, Investment property)
