Manage the day to day operations of the City’s Police department in a city of approximately 7,000 with 17 employees and $1.1MM annual operating budget. Implemented policies coupled with increased accountability and training to achieve greater professionalism and recognition by the Texas Police Chiefs Association (anticipated 2019). Developed and standardized the hiring, transfer and promotion process which included a program to send recruits with appropriate skills and character to a regional Police Academy.Prepared the strategic plan to acquire appropriate equipment and improve facilities including vehicle, mobile video, and in-vehicle computer programs.

Led departmental divisions in setting the strategic goals and policies that create efficiency and effectiveness for the community during a time of rapid change. (Position reclassified from Captain to Assistant Chief 2010). 2011-2016 Commander of the department’s largest division (98 sworn members/12 civilians) supported by an $11MM annual budget. Provided oversight for police services to 158,000+ daily passengers and 60,000+ airport employees. As well as passenger terminals, the division provided police service to hotels, retail outlets, office complexes, and warehouses within the airport’s 27 sq.ml. jurisdiction.Prepared application and negotiated scope of work for a 3-year $3.2MM Law Enforcement Officer Reimbursement Program.2007-2011 Accountable for the Investigations Division, I oversaw detectives conducting Criminal and Administrative Investigations. Coordinated with federal partners for managing department personnel assigned to Task Force operations. Collaborated with Human Resources to reduce police service vacancies, from a high of 18 to zero, by increasing accountability and efficiency in talent acquisition. Maintained the department’s Standard Operating Procedures and supervised the complete rewrite to meet the needs of a significant reorganization.Primary Alternate Airport Security Coordinator, working extensively with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) on security ensuring regulatory compliance related to the Airport’s Security Program.Served as the DFW Airport representative to the Super Bowl XLV (2011) Regional Public Safety Planning Committee coordinated the Airport Police role in the regional event. Represented the Police service in the Airline Tenant Association forming strategic relationships with air carrier management.2005-2007 Led the Patrol Division and assembled a plan for the realignment of the department’s divisional responsibilities
