Founder and Structural Engineer for MyBeam making access to structural engineering easier for residential refurbishment.

I work within a small consultancy on Commercial and Domestic Structural and Civil Engineering projects throughout the UK. Main responsibilities include collaborating with Design Engineers to convert the concept design into drawings using AutoCAD along with managing aspects of the project. Key capabilities:• Extensive knowledge of using drawing software AutoCAD (2D) (4 years) and the production of Structural Plans along with all relevant details and sections in order for the contractor to tender and construct from• RC detailing and the production of RC Schedules (2 years) including spanning slabs, flat slabs, retaining walls, lift pits, spanning beams and columns• Widespread experience of construction methods in a variety of different materials with the ability to produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements concerned with individual projects• Production of Architectural Planning drawings including Floor Plans, Elevations and Site Boundary Plans• Competent in the production of Building Regulation Drawings with specifications provided to meet all current Building Regulations • Extensive experience liaising with Local Authority Planning and Building Regulation Departments together with the client to fulfil their project needs• Significant exposure to client interface and design teams• Vast experience in managing domestic projects throughout all stages of works including Planning, Design, on site Construction through to completion• Liaising with Contractor personnel on site regarding construction issues • Design experience in Structural Steelwork, Masonry, Concrete and Structural Timber together with performing structural load chases in structures taking account of the relevant Codes of Practice. • The use of Design Software Tedds CSC to produce Structural Designs and Calculations• The use of Design Software S-Frame Enterprise to analyse 3D models and produce Structural Designs and Calculations

My main responsibilities included reading fabrication drawings to produce fabricated and welded components to suit. Installations of those components were then carried out in domestic and commercial construction sites throughout the UK.
