NHSGGC Psychological Trauma service is a tertiary level mental health service offering assessment, formulation and evidence based treatments to survivors of complex trauma. Provides training and teaching role within Greater Glasgow and Clyde Board area and are committed to developing a trauma informed and trauma skilled organisation. We understand and respond to the relationship between social inequalities and trauma including homelessness, criminal justice and asylum seekers and refugees. We are a specialist trauma service offering a national service to those who have been trafficked and to incare survivors of abuse.

Providing one-to-one self help coaching sessions for adult survivors of childhood trauma. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approach to sessions equipping clients to recognise, understand and manage the symptoms of trauma through self help techniques to improve mental health and wellbeing. Clients identify meaningful personal outcomes and develop a plan on how to work towards them. Sessions focus on Phase 1 intervention of safety and stabilization (symptom management, improving emotion regulation, addressing current stressors and houroring the skills of survival and resilience that support psychological healing and recovery) providing self management tools and techniques with a view to help clients feel empowered that they have the power to cope better in the future. Better Than Well engages with local practices, third sector organisations, addiction, mental health and psychology services to align practice in relation to adult survivors of childhood trauma. This lays positive foundations for clients to build upon when they go on to access additional support services through signposting. This offers a more holistic, person centered and high quality response to our clients who may be experiencing emotional crisis or multiple morbidity because of adverse events in their childhood. Better Than Well also delivers trauma informed awareness training sessions, seminars and shared learning events to increase awareness of the impact of childhood trauma on adults.

I am responsible for the design, implementation and review of the care plan to persons with autism. I work with several individuals within a variety of settings such as residential, day service or housing with support in a community based setting which requires me to be flexible in my support strategies to ensure a person-centred approach. I am interested in improving the culture of care and put compassion at the heart of everything I do driving person centred, safe and effective care. I lead as a key worker building a therapeutic alliance with the service users placing them at the centre of their care plan to respect their needs and preferences and provide an opportunity to make informed decisions about their care and treatment. I manage my own case load whereby I am responsible for assessing the needs of these individuals by leading in the development of their individual care plans and ensuring that care plans and guidelines are followed, regularly updated and maintained to the highest quality possible which are audited regularly. Integral to my role is to identify and implement strategies and interventions in order to minimise risks and distress associated with supporting the individual with autism in adherence with health and safety legislation, Adults with Incapacity (Scotland Act) 2000,Adults Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 and Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003.Due to my prior skills, knowledge and practice advocating for others, I have been responsible for restructuring the service user forum by collaborating with my senior since December 2016 - present to create a platform which aims to promote, support and empower service users to use their voice by enabling service users to speak up for themselves allowing them to gain more control over their lives.

My responsibilities include;• Assist the school secretaries with the gathering of nominations and election of Class Representatives and Vice-President ensuring a democratic procedure is followed• Regularly communicate with their Class Representatives and relevant school staff in order to create a culture of feedback and information exchange though the student representation system• Take the lead on any issues that are raised to them through the student representation system in place in their school• Facilitate communication between the student body and senior staff regarding any problems that cannot be solved promptly be either class representatives or students themselves• Assist students to play a full role in any relevant quality assurance structures within each school and programme• Work with their school secretary to obtain as comprehensive a knowledge of current school issues as is possible• Promote the elections for school president in their own school. This must be done to the best of their ability and can be scrutinised by the DUSA deputy president• Compulsory attendance, except in cases of extenuating circumstances, of school boards and staff/student liaison committees, which they may be asked to help organise, chair or prepare papers for.

During my undergraduate degree I worked as a part time receptionist at a local hotel whereby I have been able to manage guests in a professional manner, and in keeping with policies and related management, guests with severely challenging behaviour, or who are verbally abusive. Main duties and responsibilities include answering calls and replying to emails, dealing with reservation bookings and enquires, dealing with large group bookings, financial banking, money handling, general administrative duties. I gained the ability to work professionally with all kinds of guests dealing with complaints in regards to service and room quality. Also the ability to defuse sensitive situations and liaise with the appropriate staff to collectively resolve any issues that may arise. I worked independently in reception and showed initiative when dealing with varying guest enquires but also worked together with various other staff in the hotel such as the head chef to prepare set menu for group bookings and also with our housekeeping staff to make sure rooms were ready for guests who had requested early check in as to cater for all guests needsGenerally welcoming guests to the hotel and being their first port of contact should there be any issues with their room or if they require information such as the local bus/train times and taxi numbers.

Research Apprenticeship under the supervision of Dr Benjamin Vincent studying "How do people combine prior beliefs with new information?" During this I assisted in overseeing the ethics application procedure, gained experience using software such as Matlab and SPSS to further my knowledge of research design and methodology, including statistical analysis of data. Some examples of the analyses that we conducted are rolling logistic regression using a Bayesian model. This has helped me develop strong team working skills, but has also helped me develop and believe in my own initiate when it comes to helping input with ideas and analyses.• Ability to search for literature appropriately in scientific journals and reports.• Carry out specific scientific analyses

Working as a waitress, I successfully coped in a fast paced, demanding environment. I thrived on providing the best customer service that I possibly could, and enjoyed the rewards of doing so. My duties included meeting and greeting customers as they arrived at the restaurant; serving the customer throughout their meal, and ensuring that they have the most enjoyable and memorable experience possible. This job allowed me to improve my customer service skills even further as I have gained valuable experience in communicating with every customer from when they arrive, until they are leaving after they had finished their meal.
