My primary responsibility is as a Salesforce Administrator supporting the Customer Care & Support (CC&S) area in Operations. I own, manage, and build out all aspects of the UP's Service Cloud for over 200 users in 7 business groups including Einstein bots, Knowledge Management, Omnichannel, chat/chatbot, reports & dashboards, and user licenses. I am also responsible for project management, leading and developing business intelligence productivity tools (including Tableau and OBIEE) that support CC&S' business objectives, as well as leading automation efforts to increase service performance and planning processes. In this role, I produce business solutions that are integral to the continuous improvement of customer experience by collaborating with internal and external customers using cross-functional teams to define strategic initiatives. This role highly depends on my coordination and collaboration skills to get feedback from multiple people across various departments in the company to achieve common reporting/measurement goals.

In this position I was responsible for the development of Oracle BPEL workflows and management of a team of 3 offshore developers and 1 integration tester for the coding of a new Java-based UI for the UPRR Workflow Management project.Daily activities in this role included Java and BPEL coding, testing, and scrum calls with offshore developers.Towards the end of my time in this role I was able to coordinate the successful implementation of the first BPEL process at UPRR.

In this position I was responsible for Oracle and Postgres software maintenance, research and development, vendor relations, and production DBA duties. I served as a Production Database administrator (DBA) with extensive experience designing, coding, testing and supporting next -generation database solutions in Oracle enterprise and Postgres.I successfully orchestrated the research, development, installation, and maintenance of UP’s Oracle 10g RAC infrastructure including DataGuard, and ASM. As this was new technology to UPRR it was my responsibility to also develop, lead, and complete training to all company DBA's to ensure the new standards, processes, and procedures were adhered to.In this role I had the sole responsibility for the research/proof-of-concept, development, testing, documentation, and implementation of the entire Postgres environment, infrastructure, standards, and procedures at UP. This also included training the DBA staff in this new environment. At the end of this role I successfully implemented all described previously, as well as oversaw the implementation of the first 10 production Postgres databases in the company.

During my time in this role I was responsible for Informatica software integration, maintenance, vendor relations, and project management/development duties. My primary responsibility was for for integrating Informatica software into Union Pacific's server and client environments. To accomplish this I successfully created and maintained documentation on Informatica processes, standards, training, and developer procedures.I also developed scripts to automate various functions within Informatica as well as scripts to monitor and alert on the health of the overall system.Informatica was a new technology in the company at the time and I was successful in implementing the software in the company and rolling it out to developers for use in production by the end of my time in this role.

I was responsible for Teradata database development, deployments, COBOL coding/debugging, data modeling, and project management. My job duties included creating new database tables as well as the supporting ETL work from mainframe and Unix files.In this role one of my large projects was a proof of concept, development, testing, training, and rollout of a new process to load Teradata directly from Unix servers. At the time, Teradata was solely loaded from the mainframe. There was a need identified to source files from Unix servers and no solution was available to get those files to the mainframe. Within 6 months I successfully developed, tested, trained staff on, and implemented an entire ETL solution to directly load the Teradata environment by using Teradata's Unix ODBC drivers.

For my first position at Union Pacific I was responsible for Teradata database development, deployments, and COBOL coding/debugging. I was able to use my recently attained education to achieve success in this role and further expand my knowledge with Teradata mainframe loads and ETL scripting to support my future growth in the data management area.

As Project Manager for the Union Pacific NetControl Commercial team (the PS Technology subsidiary) I worked on commercialization, delivery, and implementation of UP NetControl Software on other railroad's IT infrastructure. Within this role I successfully led the delivery and implementation of multiple software packages to the Ferromex (FXE) Railroad. Some of my responsibilities included:Leading the Project Management initiative on the Union Pacific/PST NetControl Commercial team. This includes coordinating with the Ferromex (FXE) railroad in delivering software packages on time and within budget. I was responsible for developing and conducting training and business documentation for delivered software packages (Location Master, Customer Master, TCM, Optimizer (CFM), Industry Terminal & Track, Customer Operating Instructions). Responsibilities also included leading the collaboration between UP and FXE business and IT teams to successfully increase utilization to include over 65 customers cutover spanning box car and covered hopper fleets.

During my contract in this position I assisted in the setup, validation, and and implementation of the migration from and Oracle environment to the open source Postgres environment.I worked with one other DBA in this process on the Oracle side while I set up and provided the coding and backup/restoration procedures on the Postgres side. The end results was a successful migration of the Oracle environment to the Postgres environment, saving the company money by not having to purchase further Oracle licensing.
