Headhunted by directors of a client to join a group of three companies dealing with lead generation via direct collaborative marketing, management of customer direct marketing campaigns (including print and post management) and a polythene wrapping facility. Joining a group with a turnover in excess of £25 million after consolidation and with a new company outside the group with a turnover in its first 3 months of more than £2.5 million. The largest company had not experienced tough time, had a culture of spending, little financial or strategic leadership and was about to commence negotiation of next year’s contracts with key customers. - Developed the reporting of the group to show gross profitability of each income stream and then overhead costs- Reviewed and introduced new sales price on a product by product basis to ensure sales prices lead to break even position- Introduced new commission scheme- Negotiated repayment terms with suppliers- Deal with pre-pack of a group company - Prepared and monitored detailed monthly, annual and daily cashflows to ensure money was available where needed- Ensured production of accurate and timely management information for the group- Manage finance team of 4 plus an IT assistant to ensure timely credit control, VAT return preparation, Payroll management, purchase ledger accuracy, factoring management- Monitor IT, Legal and Human Resource matters for the group- Assist with group strategic planning, centralising the groups accounts function - Introduced and attended regular company and group reporting and board meeting to discuss the changing position- Liaise with company bank and group audit and tax advisor including managing and preparation of group audit files- Maintained communication with the major funders to ensure funds remained available to re-build the business updating the business plan
