At Kingfisher Lighting I am responsible for the creation, maintaining and publishing of daily, weekly, monthly and adhoc basis business reports using data from microsoft access. I predominantly use microsoft excel to manipulate the raw data into more presentable dashboard formats using the various advanced lookup and sumif functions. This allows the data to be viewed much more clearly and trends which are forming observed and business actions therefore taken more quickly. The best part I enjoy is that, from an initial brief, I will take the idea and develop reports in the format that I think best presents the data in question, often redesigning and tweaking on later updates as the emphasis on subjects changes month to month. My reports are published to the Executive Team and form part of the basis for their monthly meetings and meetings with their own teams. Examples of datasets include:monthly and YTD sales of individuals and teams - who is doing their numbers and who needs helpproduct mix types, conversion rates or quotes to orders to invoicing - what is selling well for one and what is not for anotherbudgets Vs Actual and variances - where are the opportunities to explore growthStock take controls - analysing the gains a losses from a stock take and the impact on the stock holding valueI also produce further information for use in microsoft word and powerpoint formats as required for group presentations and meetings, attending some meetings myself, providing input as required. I am most likely the person to come to within the company with an excel question and pride myself on coming up with an answer. I report directly to the Financial Controller and also provide direct assistance to the Finance Director and Managing Director for much of their data requirements.
