Founded by Shaunda Lewis in December of 2020, Stone and Grace LLC is a social construction firm focused on the ways in which we as human beings individually and collectively operate. We do this through decolonization. Decolonization is the breaking down of antiquated systems, structures, and ways of thinking and acting that are rooted in colonization, in order to reconstruct: build back better, anew and create spaces and places that work for us all. Through building social and self awareness, and supporting people through positive transformation, our work strengthens the disposition to not just survive, but thrive.

Managed the campaign for Ann Walsh, City Council Candidate for Boston's District 3. In addition to managing the campaign team, this included managing the development of a campaign brand, strategy, policy platform, communications tools, voter engagement events, field plan, strategy, and ground operation, and an overall campaign vision and mission that illuminated why Ann Walsh was the best candidate to bring a fresh start to District 3! Through this process we were able to resonate with voters to push Ann, a first time political candidate, to the top tier of a crowded race of 7 candidates, landing the endorsement of The Boston Globe, and finishing just 80 votes shy of the top two placement to move on to the general election.

Co-directed Boston's participation in the Partnerships for Social & Emotional Learning Initiative (PSELI). PSELI is a six-year research initiative to learn whether and how students will benefit if schools and their out-of-school time (OST) partners work together to foster children’s social and emotional learning. Boston was one of six cities chosen to embark on this research journey, choosing 14 sites (BPS schools and their OST partners) to participate from throughout the city.• Led PSELI Boston in collaboration with the Boston Public Schools (BPS) Office of Health & Wellness. This included managing all staff and consultants (20+ people), and responsibilities related to the initiative cross-institutionally. • Supported the 7 pilot sites in creating high quality, seamless social and emotional learning (SEL) models for students across the entire learning day.• Developed and managed the cohort learning and technical assistance process for the 7 pilot sites engaged in the initiative • Oversaw all OST data collection activities related to the initiative. • Served as fiscal agent and administrator of the grant for the city; including budget management, contract management, and grant reporting • Developed the grant plan and budget from year to year in conjunction with BPS. • Collaborated with additional departments and stakeholders from throughout the city to support the system-level sustainability of PSELI.

Built and managed the social and emotional learning track of work for Boston After School & Beyond.• Developed and delivered SEL-focused professional development, open to all organizational partners (80+ youth development organizations; 180+ sites).• Built monitoring and evaluation tools and systems for SEL in the OST space, utilizing existing Boston Beyond frameworks as well as frameworks from the greater youth development field.• Built and oversaw the organization’s SEL team: supervised two direct reports (OST Manager and Program Manager for SEL) through direction, guidance, and opportunities for professional development and growth.

Supported individuals and organizations in conducting impact analysis, building racial awareness, developing an appreciation of diversity, and developing and implementing anti-racist platforms and business practices through facilitation, professional learning, and strategic planning.

Served as a Leadership Coach and Facilitator in HBS’ inaugural offering of the Interpersonal Skills Development Course. This course is a part of the required curriculum for 1st year MBA students, supporting them in building interpersonal skills essential for success in school, career, and life.• Supported 31 1st year MBA students with their continuous growth and development in building authentic, trusting relationships.• Led the lab component of the course for students, including facilitating the activities and lessons that supported skill development and connection.• Provided each of the 31 students in my cohort with written feedback to weekly reflection assignments to assist with their personal journeys in further cultivating the skills of: Humble Inquiry, Objective Description, Perspective Taking, and Building Trusting Relationships.

Managed the major MA program components for the organization and contributed to the professional learning of organizational staff •Managed the Massachusetts Expanded Learning Time (ELT) Continuous Improvement Network – which was composed of 30+ ELT schools from across the state •Designed and coordinated all of the Network’s professional learning opportunities – this included four 200 person statewide convenings and six smaller school level exemplar showcases•Managed the Seeing is Believing Program: developed, coordinated, and provided on-site management of one to three day tours for multiple audiences (mostly school leadership teams) from across the country to high functioning ELT schools in Massachusetts. In 2014-15 the program hosted over 80 educators, policymakers, and funders from across the country •Worked closely with the Massachusetts State Director on policy initiatives related to sustaining and expanding ELT statewide•Collaborated with the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Redesign Office and other partners to ensure the success, sustainability, and proper implementation of ELT in Massachusetts•Developed, designed, and delivered all-staff “Critical Conversations” on race, poverty, and ed reform aligned to the organization’s core values (personally assembled and led the team of people from throughout the organization charged with this work)•Participated in working groups dedicated to the development of core values, and the social and cultural morale of the organization
