Kibo, an eCommerce company, acquired Monetate. I continued working on the Monetate team until April 2021. I led two teams and managed a half-dozen direct reports and several contractors.* The Integration Solutions team works with partners and clients to develop and build complex omnichannel integrations. We also work directly with clients' technical teams.* The Customer Data team's main focus is facilitating the GDPR-compliant use of customer data within the Monetate platform, we also contribute to other data-heavy projects, such as ML-driven audience segmentation and realtime social proofing.

In the morning, I managed all editorial content on DelawareOnline.com, including writing, editing, and posting articles and determining story placement on the homepage. In the afternoon, I copy-edited for the lifestyles and opinion sections of The News Journal. I also frequently worked on special projects that involve programming:• Built a site-scraping application that pulled and parsed live voting data for the 2010 elections.• Created a series of PHP scripts that monitored user-submitted comments and apply robust filtering to remove abusive comments.• Developed an alternate interface to our CMS that allowed drag-and-drop uploads and improved efficiency.• Developed a Greasemonkey script that made substantial enhancements to our CMS, including some AJAX-ified functionality that enabled us to write entire stories with one click using scraping and a natural-language algorithm I developed.• Developed various Facebook applications, including a photo gallery sharing app and a bunch of interactive quizzes.• Created an email alert script that scrapes from about a dozen sources and feeds us near-real-time tips about traffic, weather, etc.• Created a Greasemonkey script that overlays SiteCatalyst page-view stats on stories that appear on our homepage.• Developed an application that uses geocoding to send breaking-news alerts to users based on their location.

I was hired as a copy editor and later became the deputy copy chief. I copy-edited and prepared stories for the Web, edited video scripts and compiled e-mail newsletters.

I copy-edited for all sections of the magazine and helped coordinate the page proof process.

I was a full-time, year-long volunteer with DeSales ServiceWorks, a program similar to AmeriCorps. During the school year, I worked in the computer lab of a high school in inner-city Philadelphia, and I tutored kindergarteners during the summer.

As managing editor, I was in charge of tracking each page through the editorial process and enforcing deadlines. I was also the primary liason for our freelancers. I also coded dynamic content for the magazine’s website, including photo galleries and reader polls.
