Windsor materials handling is a family company providing handling solutions from 12 branches. We Provide a top class service for all materials handling requirements. This includes sales and hire of new and used fork lift trucks and attachments, sales and hire of new access equipment and a parts and service department to cater for all makes of equipment. Within this department at Sleaford I am soley responsible for purchasing parts - after first finding the correct part from a variety of sources, online, PDF parts books and the good old paper parts book amongst others. I am then tasked with finding the best deal I can for the parts in question (not necessarily the cheapest) getting quotes and delivery dates etc from various suppliers. During this process I will raise a purchase order for the parts, book them to the appropriate job - or raise a new job if there's not one already there. Once the parts have arrived I will inspect them, check them against the PO and receive the goods into the stores. I will then create the appropriate paperwork to go with the parts and let the engineers and service manager know they are ready to go. Being Store person I am responsible for stock control and distribution. Always ensuring fast moving items are available for the engineers. I take great pride in my stores making sure all parts are booked out correctly and all the engineers, of which there are now 16, have everything they need for the job in hand.I work very closely with all members of the team to try to be sure of getting the right parts for the job first time and in a timely manner.

Previously I was storeman of the Lincoln facility of Dresser-Rand – previously Peter Brotherhood Ltd. This facility builds both reciprocating compressors and combined heat and power units. In this role I am primarily responsible for receipt and inspection of goods into the facility and ensuring they are booked in – using PB2000, and processed in a timely and professional manner adhering to all policies and procedures.My other main role is to run the stores - maintaining stock levels and tooling quantities to enable the engineers on the shop floor to do their job. Raising appropriate paperwork to accomplish this. I have also taken responsibility for much of the running of the offices and shop floor day to day admin in the absence of an admin assistant.I am responsible for “chasing items” for all of the contracts here - so that all parts are here, in good time, for the build to progress to meet tight deadlines. This involves talking to the purchasing dept, expeditors, store persons, project managers and managers at the main works and also talking to customers and suppliers in order to make sure we have what we need, when we need it.At peak production times I have also been set fitting work, with the team, building either the compressors or CHP units as required on the shop floor.

Supervisor/Member of the Blades cell team.Supervisor/Member of the Hardware cell team I was responsible, alongside my team mates, for ensuring the day-to-day running of the cell goes to plan.I am very able at time management (mine and the rest of the team).I also looked after all furnace runs, carrying out blasting and masking tasks and coating and spray gun spares stock control. I have been trained as an inspector to Siemens Specification. I had responsibility for the wastewater treatment plant, including setting up of preventative maintenance and spares.

Parts delivery, sales and advisor

I was maintenance engineer responsible for the general upkeep of both machinery and buildings within the hatchery, as well as on various rearing farms around the UK. (Plumbing, Electrical and mechanical). This was as team leader of 5 people and individually reporting direct to the manager.This also involved travel around the UK. and Holland to remove, ship back and refit second hand incubators into the hatchery.
