Upfront is a consumer facing app (iPhone and Android) and web platform created to allow artists and leaders to build intimate online communities with their most devoted fans.I had the original idea for Upfront back in 2010 after working closely with several artists. I saw just how easy it was for their true fans to get lost in the insanity of social media spam, hate, and drama. While social media was originally supposed to help make the gap between fans and heroes smaller, it didn't take long until the gap grew large again.Upfront builds private communities where fans pay a small monthly fee to connect better with their favorite artists, bands, and leaders.As Chief Creative Officer, I served as the primary creator and guide for the feature set of our platform, helped construct the wireframes and front end web/app design, and co-authored a far reaching patent for the mobile delivery of content that we were proudly awarded in March of 2014.In all startups you wear multiple hats so I also oversaw and guided all integrated marketing campaigns ranging from the creation and management of:-Successful street teams & concert tours in 22 American cities with prizes, handbills, t-shirts, banners, tables, pre-concert commercials from the main stage & banners-Robust Twitter, Facebook, and Google ad campaigns native to our platform and integrated with our artists who had a collective reach of over 35 million unique followers-Email marketing campaigns for our products and for each artist and leader on our platform-Blog management -International press releases and media interviews-Social media management with metrics for Facebook, Twitter, and InstagramI also served the primary point of contact and adviser for most of the artists and leaders on our platform, which included:-Author & lecturer Deepak Chopra-Grammy winning artists Maxwell, Michelle Williams, PJ Morton, and Charles Jenkins-8 time Grammy nominee Ledisi-Hillsong United-Robbie Williams-deadmau5

HopeMob (@HOPE on Twitter) is an amazing social media movement designed to bring generous strangers together from all over the world to rally together around one human story at a time. With over 370,000 dedicated followers on Twitter and over 125,000 fans on Facebook, social media drives our movement!As Founder & CEO, my responsibilities were broad, demanding, and among the most challenging of professional life. I was the chief evangelist and public spokesperson for our brand and the hundreds of stories we featured and raised funds for. In this role, I traveled the country sharing the story of HopeMob, personally managed and grew our social media footprint to be one of the 10 largest of any charity in the world and the second largest of any crowdfunding platform, and conducted dozens of media interviews, delivered speeches, pitches, and so much more.As the leading executive of the charity, I oversaw the day to day management of our staff, payroll, fundraising, human resources, and managed a complex network of skilled volunteers from all over the world. An online auction company in which celebrities could auction off Twitter mentions and follows for charity, TwitChange was the Winner of the Mashable Award for Most Creative Social Good Campaign and received over 60 million visits from all over the world in just 12 months. Our work was featured on the front page of the Wall Street Journal and in most mainstream media outlets ranging from the Ellen Show, the Tonight Show, CNN, Fox News, and more.Founded with the help of Eva Longoria, TwitChange auctions featured over 300 celebrities from every segment of the world ranging from Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato to Kim Kardashian and Kevin Hart and raised funds for post earthquake Haiti, families of fallen soldiers, and for the education of girls in developing countries.I sold the company, but am immensely proud of what we accomplished.

I know their is a real tendency by businesses and even charities to sometimes completely discount my 3+ years as a pastor as being a bit irrelevant, but I assure it wasn't. It was during those three years that I grew and blossomed as a leader, a manager of teams, and found my inspirational voice. Perhaps most of all, as we launched Courageous Church from scratch in Midtown Atlanta, during the early days of social media, we learned that the intersection of social media, compassion, and a good cause could make a real difference in the world. I'm immensely proud of what we accomplished in Atlanta and around the world during my tenure.In addition to being a religious and motivational leader, I oversaw a small paid staff, an enormous crew of as many as 250 volunteers, and got my feet wet for the first time with real estate negotiations, organizational budgets, hiring and firing, and so much more.
