- Assist Lead Civil Engineer and NRCS Engineers in review of design plans and specifications from contractors; perform engineering calculations for projects associated with sediment basins, denitrifying bioreactors, underground outlets, and soil erosion control.-Responsible for developing and facilitating bilingual curriculum for beginning farmers in irrigation system design, water and nutrient management, soil-water-plant relationships, irrigation scheduling and on-farm conservation practices-Strengthen relationships with growers and manage experimental agricultural innovation projects for water, nutrient and energy conservation (e.g. plastic mulch alternatives, subsurface drip irrigation, wind fighting sprinkler technology).-Oversee administration, management, and evaluation of four grant-funded projects.-Conduct field investigations, collect soil and water samples, and survey land for design and construction projects.

Worked under Dr. Charles Colgan and Dr. Fernando DePaolis to assess and map the climate resilience of San Diego county based on the projected scenarios from the Coastal Storm Modeling System (CoSMoS). I provided a base analysis of San Diego's economic vulnerability to climate change and mapped the analysis using GIS software.

Global Majority’s Salinas Peacemakers Program at Rancho Cielo and the Youth Center, is a 14-15 week elective studies course for student leaders to develop practical skills in conflict resolution and negotiation as well as civic engagement.The program curriculum includes:-strategies for dealing with conflict in their personal lives-skill building in effective communication-training in interest-based negotiation techniques-a student-led and implemented service learning project in their community-guest speakers-multiple role-plays and simulations-presentation, critical thinking and team work practice

MARINE provides professional development opportunities to prepare future ocean leaders for interdisciplinary real world problem-solving. MARINE is a collaboration between The Center for Ocean Solutions and seven Monterey Bay area academic campuses.My duties included:- Coordinating with the Center for Blue Economy and the Center for Ocean Solutions on a panel discussion showing the interlinkages between environmental challenges and U.S. national and global security.- Collaborating with the Center for Ocean Solutions and seven campus network to provide leadership opportunities to graduate students in order to build skills critical to their success as ocean champions.- Communicating with local university by propagating weekly newsletters and updates on job and event opportunities.

For my summer CBE fellowship, I performed research under the newly formed Pacific Centre for Environmental Governance (PCEG) at IUCN's Oceania Regional Office.My duties included:- Contributing to the research and development of the Talanoa Toolkit integrating traditional Pacific meeting styles with modern agendas. - Contributing to the mapping of environmental, social, economic and cultural interconnections and interdependencies in coastal fisheries in the Pacific Island Countries.- Convening Pacific community leaders, experts, government officials and NGOs for a talanoa-style discussion on the cross-sectoral impacts of coastal fisheries and the importance of prioritization and management.- Compiling the results and analysis into an infographic, 2-page summary and a 14-page report which were delivered to Andrew Foran, and released as the first Green Paper of IUCN’s PCEG.

Estimated the economic benefits of anchovies left as forage fish to the Monterey Bay under Dr. Geoff Shester.This analysis included:- Performing literature review on: a.) Marine biodiversity in the Monterey Bay b.) Northern anchovy abundance, feeding and migration dynamics, as well as market value and total landings statistics c.) Humpback whale feeding ecology, prey preference, migration patterns and sightings reports- Conducting interviews with marine scientists, researchers and local whale watching companies- Examining the bioenergetic relationship between humpback whales and anchovy, relationships in humpback whale sightings trends and northern anchovy landings, as well as the economics relationship of humpback whales to the whale watching industry- Analyzing data using proven statistical analysis techniques- Compiling the research into a concise research document outlying key findings

Examined the hypothesis of a market transfer effect during the Hawaiian longline swordfish fishery closure of 2001-2014 under Dr. Jason Scorse and Dr. Philip King. This analysis included:- Conducting a literature review on the global swordfish industry - Ascertaining evidence linking Pacific swordfish landing increase to an increase in European demand - Connecting with and interviewing Spanish and European Union organizational leaders to secure key information on EU fisheries and subsidies- Compiling the analysis into a research document outlining key findings and arguments for Earthjustice

• Evaluated local water and sanitation needs and current development prospects• Supported two rural aqueduct committees in becoming more proactive and cohesive, and supervised procedures to gain nationally recognized legal status• Liaised with an American NGO and a community of 500 persons in the construction of a rainwater catchment system for the community birthing house and engineered a solution for a new community latrine design• Trained 18 water committee members on rural aqueduct system design and maintenance• Designed an upflow roughing sand filter system for a community of 307 persons• Trained 23 aspiring volunteers in the “Global Core” curriculum, national water laws and technical guidance involving disease transmission and vector eradication• Co-trained 21 Peace Corps volunteers on rural aqueduct design, hydraulic ram pumps and construction using ferrocement• Promoted 41 youths as a facilitator in national Gender and Development Camp
