(2016-2018)Engineering Capstone Design Project: Created MATLAB analytical models to evaluate the battery system’s energy and power requirements allowing for better hybrid racecar performance. Emphasized system’s ease of use through simplicity, reliability, and thorough documentation. Combined electrical, mechanical, and controls engineering knowledge with five teammates’ skillsets to design, fabricate, test, and install the new battery system. (2017-2018)Designed a new rear section of the existing racecar chassis to fit new components for a hybrid drivetrain. Collaborated with team captains, members, and professors to discuss and review potential designs that abide Formula Hybrid rules and constraints. Gained valuable CAD/SolidWorks skills in the design process which will be useful in future projects and roles. (2015-2016)Used SolidWorks (CAD) to design and machine seat fixtures to hold the driver’s seat in place while the car is in motion. Machined two steel structures to give the chassis extra support to withstand a 40g deceleration. Wired/rewired battery banks to troubleshoot communication errors between the battery cells and the battery management system (2014-2015)
