Dr. Shaun Wang is a Professor at Southern University of Science and Technology and Chair for Risk Lighthouse.Dr. Wang is an internationally renowned expert on quantitative risk modeling. He has received several international awards, including the 2023 Harold D. Skipper Best Paper Prize by the Asia Pacific Risk and Insurance Association, 2021 Research Excellence Reward by the China Finance Review International, 2018 University of Kentucky Research Excellence Award, 2014 Variance Journal Best Paper Prize by the Casualty Actuarial Society, 2010 Robert Mehr Award by the American Risk and Insurance Association,etc. He is the inventor of the "Wang Transform", a widely-cited mathematical formula for pricing risks. His recent research activities include valuation of technological startups, climate risk and insurance, green finance, and financial risk management.
