Shaun is Counsel in Bird & Bird ATMD LLP's dispute resolution group. He is dual-qualified in Singapore and UK (England & Wales). He regularly acts for clients in complex transnational commercial disputes across the TMT space, financial markets and energy & infrastructure industry. As instructed or sole counsel, he has successfully represented clients in SIAC, LCIA and ICC international arbitration proceedings, before the Singapore courts and the Singapore International Commercial Court. Shaun is uniquely placed to provide advice that goes beyond the narrow scope of the dispute and which addresses the significant regulatory and compliance exposure that clients might face; he is able to draw from his significant experience with cross-border restructuring and insolvency exercises, compliance and investigatory exercises involving various foreign anti-corruption legislation, as well as his experience as the lead associate of a directory ranked "extremely responsive and very knowledgeable" employment team.He is an CIArb Fellow and sits on the SIAC Reserve Panel for Arbitrations, as well as AIAC Panel for Arbitrators and for Domain Name Dispute Resolution. He has written extensively on international arbitration, Singapore employment and data privacy law. He is prize winner for the CIArb Essay Competition 2018. He has also been interviewed and quoted on some matters, and has spoken at multiple international conferences on international dispute resolution across areas and sectors including international arbitration, tech (Web3 and eSports) and space.
