In this position, I act as the direct assistant to the Grace A. Tanner Center for Human Values' director. My average tasks include event planning and preparation, purchasing card management, advertising, interdisciplinary communication, and operating as a liaison. I work with university catering, event hosting, and local businesses to ensure Grace A. Tanner guests have lodging and meals and that their events are advertised to the campus and town communities. Additionally, I transcribe, edit, and format their lectures, when applicable, for publication.Financially, I handle purchases and ensure university financial protocol and the fiscal year budget is followed. Faculty overloads, direct deposits, requisitions, expense transfers, and contracts are also part of this aspect.

In this position, I collaborated with reporters and/or section editors to ensure articles are ready for either daily digital or bi-semesterly physical publication. The editing process included developmental, line, and copy edits for previews, reviews, and profiles. I acted as the go-to person for questions about grammar, overall writing, and AP style.Because this is a student organization, I have also worked with the editor-in-chief to educate news staff on writing technique and grammar to enhance their writing abilities.

I served as an editor from August 2020 through April 2021. The following August, I began serving as the assistant editor-in-chief; I took over as editor-in-chief in May 2022. Throughout my time with the literary magazine, I have judged over 600 creative works and edited over 200 poems, creative nonfiction pieces, and fiction pieces.As the editor-in-chief, I led the staff alongside a faculty advisor and oversaw the submission and editing processes. I shifted our submissions from Google Drive to Submission Manager to match the industry. Additionally, I managed coorespondance with contributors, developed semester class plans, and led weekly discussions.
