Supervising the work of the DEI Office to support and promote DEI efforts and mission of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and its commitment to an equitable, just environment where the voices of all our students, faculty, and staff are valued and respected. Designing and organizing trainings, workshops, academic and pedagogical support for faculty, students and staff. Responding to reports/concerns from students and faculty in departments and liaise, as appropriate, with Human Resources, the Dean of Faculty, Faculty Liaison, Student Affairs, and the Title IX Office to address concerns.

An elected position voted by all full-time and part-time faculty at school for a five year term. Primary responsibilities include:•establishing and overseeing programs for faculty development as teachers, as practitioners, and as researchers.•Work with the Dean of Faculty and Divisional Deans to develop systems and processes for mentoring all faculty, including new faculty orientation, promotion and tenure process, mentoring part-time faculty•Chair of Adjunct Promotions committee•Advise departments and programs search committees and departmental promotion and tenure committees on appropriate deliberation and decision processes, attending key search committee meetings.•Advise departments or programs on policy and procedures on first and penultimate reviews of candidates in their contract and tenure review process•Advise Faculty Contract and Tenure Review Board at the outset of their work on appropriate deliberation and decision processes to help ensure consistency.•Member of Academic Steering Committee, Dean's Advisory Committee, Part-Time Concerns Committee, Curriculum Committee, Climate Committee, Web Steering Committee, Fiscal Affairs, Benefits and Remuneration Committee, Expanded Budget Committee and numerous senate and other committees of the institution.• Conduct new faculty orientation each semester• Design and lead training and on-boarding for all Department Chairs

The department consists of over twenty faculty, twenty graduate students and serves over 750 undergrad students each year.Responsibilities include:• Department program administration :• Overseeing over 30 classes offered each semester in the department• Lead Classroom and facilities management• Curriculum innovation and planning• Led adaptation of all classes for remote learning during campus closure due to COVID 19 pandemic in Spring 2020• Successfully led design and implementation of five new classes in 2019-20• Spearheaded discussions for curriculum revision including designing of new Intro, Junior and Senior level seminars in the department.• Manage budget of $153,000 including• Departmental operations• Research and travel funds for faculty (increased the support for faculty and staff research by 388%)• Training and education of staff and faculty• Visiting Artist Program (hosting atleast six public lectures by emiment international artists and scholars, who would also conduct studio visits with graduate students in Printmedia. In addition, funded 8-10 visiting artists/scholars for individual classes in the department each year.• Managing hiring of Teaching assistants in the department.• Manage Graduate admission and recruitment for Department of Printmedia(The MFA program at School of the Art institute is ranked #2 in the US and the Department of Printmedia is ranked #4 by US News and World Report)

Taught a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate courses in Printmedia.Awarded Faculty of the Year award in 2015 based on nominations and strong teaching evaluations submitted by students at SAIC

Taught undergraduate and graduate courses in the nationally ranked Printmaking department.

Conducted on-field primary research on the craft tradition of the states of Orissa, Jharkhand and New Delhi for a 3 volume encyclopedia "Handmade in India".

Worked as a Research Associate for 26 documentary films "The Paintings of India". The films of 30 minute duration each traced the tradition of paintings of India from the pre historic to contemporary times.
