I worked as a program facilitator for programs themed around cultural immersion, community connections, learning about local culture and history. The activities included art exploration, making local desserts, brick-making, kayaking, cycling and camping.

Besides my role as a facilitator for various outdoor programs for children, I worked on networking with parents to build understanding of the programs, benefits of outdoor education for children, experiential education methodology and safety measures in our programs. I also networked with various schools in South India for our school based programs.

I worked as a freelance program facilitator, facilitating activities for school programs. It included outdoor learning activities; focussing on group problem solving, listening to others and sharing your own views. I supported the team by providing them with facilitation inputs, designing and documenting group activities, and giving feedback on safety protocols.

I worked with adolescents as a learning facilitator in a Montessori Erdkinder setting. I worked at a farm school where I facilitated English, Geography and Science lessons for a group of adolescents. We learned by doing. It included projects on farming and growing food, constructing animal shelters and taking care of the farm dogs among many other projects. I was able to connect these activities with the academic curriculum. So we learned about measurements, area and perimeter by constructing our school playground, farming helped us learn a lot of Biology and Geography. We did a lot of thinking on choosing between machines and manual labor and learned a lot of concepts from Social Sciences while doing that. Yes, it can be simply called as project-based learning, however these projects were not randomly chosen, in fact it was all based on the needs of this forming and norming community of adolescents.

I worked with children, parents and teachers. I facilitated English, Science, Geography and life skills classes for middle school children. Additionally I worked teachers as an in-house trainer; included sessions on conflict resolution, classroom management, project-based and interdisciplinary learning approach. I helped the parents support their children through schooling and understand them better.
