About Dr. Shaweta Arora
🔬I started out like many PhDs, deeply invested in the lab, surrounded by research papers only. I loved the science but felt boxed in—like there was so much more I could do outside those walls.Fast forward, I became an Application Scientist at Redcliffe Labs, working on Agri-genomic projects across North India. My role? Here, I worked directly with clients on Next-Generation Sequencing and partner with key industry leaders to tackle real challenges., and seeing how plant science impacts real-world challenges. It’s where my research background truly comes alive. This role showed me the powerful blend of strategy, relationship-building, and science that drives industry success.✍️ But getting here wasn’t easy. Moving from academia to industry is a big shift, and I know how overwhelming it can feel. Having navigated my own transition, I now coach PhDs and MScs to unlock their industry potential. If you're ready to leverage your expertise outside the academic bubble, let's connect.I am AI enthusiast. If you’re looking to learn how AI can change research efficiency, I’d love to bring this conversation to your college or institute. 📈 If you have a challenging project that could benefit from my experience in Agri genomic or AI for plant science—whether it’s project management, business development, or beyond—let’s connect. I’m always open to taking on impactful new work!Curious about what a decade in plant science and Agri genomic looks like in real-world settings? In India’s booming genomics market, with only a handful of players mastering Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) solutions, breaking through isn’t easy. In Redcliffe genetics, starting from the ground up, my role was about more than just adding NGS clients to a list. I was setting up a network of relationships grounded in trust, expertise, and results across North India. Each Agri genomic project became a chance to offer application support and precise experimental design, making sure every client felt supported and equipped to advance their research. The real satisfaction? Seeing those conversations lead to stronger customer engagement. Then came the seminars and workshops. Each event was a new chance to position Redcliffe Labs as a leader in the field—sharing the latest techniques, showing what our technology could achieve, and ensuring our clients walked away with more than just answers. These technical presentations weren’t just sessions; they were discussions that sparked curiosity, spurring ideas that our clients could take back to their own labs. Each time I left a stage, I felt our influence in the industry grow stronger.🤝 Working with our sales team was where the numbers really started to tell the story. Together, we developed strategies that weren’t about quick wins but meaningful growth. The outcome? A solid 15-20% boost in sales, driven by a blend of technical expertise and market insight that connected us more deeply with our clients’ needs. It was a journey of expanding Redcliffe’s reach in ways that mattered. Reach out—I’m always ready to explore new possibilities and challenges in the world of genomics and beyond. #NGS #CustomerEngagement #SalesCollaboration #RedcliffeLabs

My journey in understanding plant-pathogen interactions took me deep into the biology of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, a pathogen notorious for its destructive potential. By focusing on secretome analysis, I was able to identify potential effector candidates—those molecules the pathogen deploys to compromise plant defenses. Each discovery brought us closer to designing crops that could stand strong against this threat. But I didn’t stop at identifying these effectors. I dove into transcriptomic analysis, exploring the changes not only in the pathogen but also in the plant during their high-stakes interactions. Each transcript told a part of the story, revealing how the pathogen and host species adapt in real time. The final piece? Metabolic profiling using UPLC-MS. Here, I could see how different pathogen isolates adapted and evolved, each detail shaping how we could target breeding strategies more precisely. This wasn’t just research; it was a step toward a future where crops are naturally equipped to fend off disease. It’s incredible to think that insights from a single pathogen could shift the future of plant resilience. If plant resilience research sparks your interest too, I’d love to connect. #PlantPathology #CropScience #AgriculturalInnovation

EPA production in plantsWhen I set out to engineer the EPA pathway in plant, I knew the impact this could have if successful and I was able to give a proof of concept as this engineering worked and EPA was produced in plants and validated using GC-MS.But I wanted to push further. I began by modulating the EPA pathway through careful biochemical adjustments in Monodopsis subterranea, a microalga which already produce EPA but in low quantity. The early results were promising—a 3.3-fold increase in EPA productivity in Monodopsis subterranea Further, by developing a mutant strain using UV-C mutagenesis, I saw an impressive 6.4-fold increase in EPA production, opening new doors for sustainable EPA sources. Each experiment was a step closer to creating high-EPA production that could have real-world impact. #PlantEngineering #GeneEditing #GoldenBraidCloning #Microalgae #Mutagenesis
