Responsibilities:• Presales technical support developing Power Solutions specializing in high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) for the Americas.• Participate in customer Proof of Concepts as requested either within our lab or at the customer location.• I am the PowerHA Regional Designated Specialist Leader for the Americas and conduct quarterly conference calls with field specialist.• Present to customers at the IBM Executive Briefing Center in Austin on HA and DR on Power Systems.• Presented and assisted with labs, each year at PPWER conferences over the last 14 years including one in Singapore.• Teach formal and informal classes on HACMP/POWERHA both inside the US and outside in Australia, Canada, and South Korea.• Occasional support for customer complaints or critical situations.• I worked with over 300 customer worldwide.Other Activities• I was one of the original moderators of the HACMP Yahoo News Group.• I maintained both an internal and external PowerHA wiki.• I participated in monthly development conference calls for feedback and current activities.• I presented at Technical Symposiums and User and Virtual User Group Meetings around the US.• I also conduct numerous training sessions to Support Line, Business Partners, and customers both via websession and onsite. Achievements:I co-authored several PowerHA redbooks, one on storage, and the rest on HACMP/POWERHA I co-wrote five of the six HACMP/POWERHA Certification exams.I have written numerous other technical documents, about half of which are still available online today. My techdocs receive ~66k hits a year and my demos on youtube receive ~7k hits a year.I was the most decorated POWER ATS member on my team during my tenure. I was tops in the number of customer engagements, excellent surveys returned, and top revenue. In my last three years I have three consecutive “1” review ratings, and 4 of the last 5 years. I was THE support guy for both PCs on a Novel network and users on two RISC6000/AIX systems.
