-Review evidence of insurability forms for Life, Long Term Disability and Short Term Disability insurance-Request and review blood and urine labs and medical records-Process pharmacy records obtained through the Milliman database-Use reinsurance underwriting manuals to rate the severity of applicant medical histories-Review appeals submitted for work items that were previously declined or postponed-Report trends such as duplicate work items or work items pending zero dollars requested-Respond to emails from the call center regarding questions from applicants-Participate in department meetings to determine if our guidelines require updates-Have an understanding of disability policy factors such as pre-existing conditions and elimination periods-Proposed, coordinated and managed project to update guidelines for disability files with pre-existing condition clauses-Assisted processing team with evidence of insurability submissions

-Conduct claim interviews with plan holders and insured employees-Take incoming phone calls from claimants and plan holders to discuss policy and claim questions -Review medical records for restrictions and compare them to the claimant’s occupational requirements-Keep accurate ICD10 medical codes on file to assist in accuracy for actuarial department-Communicate with the underwriting department to confirm accurate policy details for group plans-Conduct pre-existing condition and evidence of insurability reviews to verify qualifications for coverage-Discuss claim details with Registered Nurses to determine supported restrictions of claimant’s diagnosis-Review claimant experience and education history for Vocational Rehab Specialists-Provide resources to assist with Social Security Disability applications-Complete calculations for salaries, part-time earnings, overpayments and survivor benefits
