• Write permits for confined space/hot work/safe line break permits. Supervise unit personnel to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all production units.• Calibrate/bump check gas meters and associated equipment; distribute PPE as needed and required.• Take VOC/LEL/H2S readings of confined space areas and anywhere hot work and/or line breaks are being performed.• Ensure and promote personnel and environmental safety of the plant by assisting in monthly and quarterly safety and fire prevention education, setting the example for incident free workplace, participating in Start of Shift meetings, perform daily plant inspections with plant manager.• Perform monthly audits/inspections: housekeeping, fire extinguisher, fire hoses and monitors, safety showers and eyewash stations, and spill kits.• Monitor compliance with safety rules of KMTEX by initiating reporting of incidents and performance of initial investigation to immediate supervisor as necessary. Track incident reporting and ensure that action items are implemented and completed.• Communicate with immediate supervisor the status of the unit, any issues that arise with safety and housekeeping in regards to the unit, and ensure that all employees receive appropriate training and have attended all scheduled EH&S meetings. • Coordinate general trash pick-up and non-hazardous waste.• Coordinate vacuum and roll-top boxes for tank cleaning.• Responsible for labeling and monitoring hazardous waste profiles/roll-off boxes and monitoring hazardous waste storage area.• Monitor all outfalls going into the ship channel.• Assist in the lab when needed to run analyticals on samples
