Senior Superintendent (Heavy Civil Operations – Syncrude Site)• Overseeing the overall safe execution of large multiple projects, simultaneously, on one of the largest sites in the region with world class HS&E requirements. • Ensure a safe, reliable and productive operation for our company, client, and employees and ensure compliance with all OH&S standards. • Conduct job site safety inspections, implement and participate in Intervention process to ensure company, client and OH&S guidelines are followed.• Assist Project Manager in developing and maintaining all required documentation including schedules, execution plans, FLRAs, SOPs, JTAs and SWPs.• Implement and maintain RFI and FCN processes in regard to IFC civil engineered work packages. • Assist engineering interpreting drawings for scheduling and estimate purposes. • Manage a staff of over 27 foremen and general foreman and over 250 Employee’s at peak times.• All aspects of hiring, project staffing and training.• Apply fairly and consistently all company policies and procedures in regard to progressive discipline, termination and conflict in the workplace.• Manage a fleet of up to 180 pieces of heavy equipment at peak times. • Attend daily planning meetings; provide work direction in the field.• Ensure employees receive required training and are provided necessary resources to complete the work. • Coordinate with all internal support groups as well as sub-contractors & suppliers.• Project execution scopes include; land reclamation with volumes over 5 million BCM moved in 3-4 month winter program; engineered civil construction; overburden removal; MSE wall construction and demolition; ditching; FEN construction; pipeline corridors; haul road construction; swale construction; tailings pond spur construction; sumps; stilling wells; site prep and grading; crane pads; electrical sub-station pads; class 1 land fill with retention pond and spill way; general site services and equipment rentals.
