As the Director of Technology at Paradigm Geospatial, I lead a team of engineers, surveyors, and scientists who are passionate about creating a one-to-one digital model of our world using big-data point-clouds and LiDAR. We work with clients from various industries, such as defense, energy, and infrastructure, to provide them with high-quality, survey-grade data and insights. With over twenty years of experience in geospatial engineering, I have developed expertise in machine learning in computer vision applications, rapid design and development of rugged military products, and land surveying. I also have a master's degree in computer science that enables me to leverage the latest technologies and tools to enhance our data processing and delivery capabilities. Additionally, I have taught several computer science courses at San Diego State University, where I shared my knowledge and passion for the field with the next generation of engineers and innovators.

Teaching AssistantSan Diego State University Aug 2015 - Jun 2018San Diego, Ca, UsPrepared and delivered all lectures, created and graded assignments, and wrote and evaluated examinations for multiple, upper-division classes (i.e. CS310, CS496, and CS440). Among them, CS 310: Data Structures represents the first upper-division course for undergraduate computer science majors, and it includes many essential concepts like maps, graphs, depth and breadth first search, and recursion. Taught exclusively in Java, the class introduces students to object oriented concepts like patterns (e.g., Iterator, ListIterator, Comparator/Comparable, Adapter/Wrapper), version control with GIT, and experience with either Eclipse or the Intellij IDEA IDE.CS 310 (Data Structures): Fall 2015, Spring 2016, Spring 2017, Fall 2017CS 440 (Ethics): Fall 2016, Fall 2017, (Spring 2018)CS 496 (Data Structures): Spring 2017, (Spring 2018) -
International Business Development ManagerSaic 2008 - 2010Reston, Va, UsAfter SAIC's acquisition of Icon Systems, I began work as the principal subject matter expert on Icon's live training systems, MILES product line. I coordinated extensively with multi-discipline team members as a capture manager to create written proposals, and I served as the primary technical presenter during formal oral presentations for multiple high-value, high-risk projects. Additionally, I maintained CRM data and followed leads for new training-systems business. Supported trade shows, conventions, and demonstrations for military personnel. -
Project EngineerIcon Systems Apr 2006 - Apr 2008UsPrior to the company's acquisition by SAIC, I served as the technical lead on Icon's largest program from its initial proposal efforts through environmental testing. In this role I led a team of roughly fifteen interdisciplinary engineers. I analyzed specification requirements, coordinated vehicle integration efforts, interfaced with program management and government representatives, and wrote verification test procedures. I simultaneously served as the system's principal software architect, and implemented the design for multiple critical components. -
Sr. Embedded Systems EngineerIcon Systems May 2001 - Apr 2006UsDeveloped the software for a number of successful products in C and C++ including the MK-19 SPU, Controller Device, OSAT, OTORSO, and OT-TESS programs. - Embedded experience focused in Intel 186EB microprocessors,TI MSP430 micro-controllers, and PIC micro-controllers. - Extensive wireless experience with the Nordic nRF905 transceiver as I developed a custom RF protocol for the MILES Combat Vehicle System. - Supported multiple external RS-232 interfaces for ranges (e.g., NTC, JMRC, JRTC, OTC). - Developed a flash bootstrap loader for our common product line utilizing a sIR transceiver. - Implemented multiple PMT-90S002 compliant laser encoders and decoders- Products with ultra-low power requirements and multi-year battery life requirementsUsed Visual C++ and Visual Basic to create support applications for maintenance and production personnel. -
Sr. Mechanical DesignerIcon Systems Jun 1992 - May 2001UsUsed AutoDesk Mechanical Desktop to design and develop military standard, production level drawings for the MILES product line. Developed the winning prototype design for the MILES 2000 program and supported its ultimately successful bid. Extensive experience with rapid prototyping technologies. Successfully guided my designs through MIL-STD-810 testing. Developed for injection molding, investment casting, and CNC machining.
