Algaecytes is bringing to market a novel method for obtaining Omega 3 oils from algae directly, bypassing the traditional method of harvesting ever depleting fish stocks. Laboratory trials have proven the technology. Algaecytes is now in the critical phase of taking current capacity to commercial production levels. My role was to manage the conversion of laboratory techniques into commercially viable pilot production facilities, followed by a full-scale production plant. Requirements included:Vetting engineering partners and guiding the selection process for pilot plant buildIdentifying and following through with new processes that will add value and reduce waste to the production process, keeping in mind scalability.Identifying and exploring innovative ways to reduce overall project risk while ensuring lowest cost opportunities.Serve as central point of contact for partners related to process engineering, equipment design and selection, as well as relationships with equipment SME`sDevelop and maintain the overall program plan, from laboratory development cycles all the way through to commercial pilot production. Program guidance through trouble shooting plan weaknesses, determining and driving alternative, feasible back up options.

Currently Euronet is investing in the creation of a suite of applications related to their specific operational needs. The application needs to be flexible enough to handle Acquiring and Issuing, ATM and POS fleets, Internal reporting as well as External client reporting, etc. My primary role is to understand the requirements of all the European Offices, consolidate and communicate these to the Development team so that the final solution will be acceptable for these widely varying needs. Additional requirements include:Negotiating client needs vs. technically feasible solutions, while ensuring that basic functionality requirements are met. This involves alignment of and meeting the regional requirements of approximately 15 different countries, each with their own independent operating guidelines.Creating Scope documents and maintaining the program plan, as well as documentation related to ongoing development and requirements as they update and change.

Strengths utilized as Project manager at Euronet include a wide breadth of coordination between the clients, the international card organizations (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, China Union Pay), Euronet’s worldwide resources and external subcontractors as required. My responsibilities as a project manager ranged from negotiating program details with all stakeholders, developing and maintaining the project plan, maintaining the schedule and scope of the project, identifying risks and dependencies, and formulating innovative ways to manage these. Major accomplishments included:Completed the first connection to China Union Pay, a first for Euronet and one of the first in Europe. Acceptance of the China Union Pay cards is now being rolled out across Europe in the Euronet network, Managed a major system upgrade to all 3 European subsystems with impact to more than 12 countries and a multitude of clients. Testing coordination was extensive, and relied heavily on client and LCO participation.Managed implementation of fully custom ATM up-time reports for Citibank USA representing Czech, Hungary, and Romania. This required multiple sessions with Citi USA to determine the actual requirements of Citi vs. what data was available already in the system.Migrated German ATM traffic from external processors to our own in-house Visa connection. In addition to migrating the online traffic, this required custom reports for the Sponsor bank, resulting in many negotiations to determine the requested deliverables vs. technically feasible output.

Nviro Cleantech was a company dedicated to commercializing alternative energy sources aimed at cleaner power generation, specifically targeted at pre-combustion cleansing of coal and the conversion of biomass for use at existing power plants. My role was to convert conceptual ideas into implementation-ready solutions complete with capital requirements, process plans, and labor requirements. Major accomplishments included:System development and Implementation: Completely developed coal briquetting system from concept to installation ready in three weeks, allowing the company to determine financial feasibility. I was directly responsible for the analysis and design of the utilities, including equipment specification, cost, and delivery time. Additionally, I began to develop partnerships with key technical resources to aid in the product manufacture and evaluation.Controls Integration: Determined which equipment the company would standardize to based on suitability, availability, delivery, and cost. Developed bid packages for system integrators and selected optimum sources based on capabilities and cost effectiveness.Equipment Design/Specification: Based on concepts, identified necessary equipment to meet the requirements at optimal efficiency and cost. Managed the purchasing and selling of equipment according to the direction of the corporate headquarters. Identified key vendors and created mutually beneficial relationships to advance production capabilities.

As the founder and President of Mitchell Industrial, I was responsible for managing every aspect of the business. Our primary focus was on process and operational consulting within an industrial environment. One of our key strengths was an intimate knowledge of electric motor lamination technology. This knowledge allowed us to install and optimize equipment within the United States and Europe. In addition, with maintenance, manufacturing, and management experience, we were able to secure contracts at a major electric motor manufacturer for plant transitioning and optimization. Key accomplishments:Developed cycles for heat treatment of customer products including instructing staff on proper equipment operation and processing theory as well as proper test methods of finished parts for quality control.Evaluated suitability and feasibility of steel suppliers for Hungarian facility and aided in contract negotiation. Additionally managed negotiations between Indian and Italian suppliers for new capital equipment at the Hungarian facility. Evaluated staffing and reduced to meet client goals for indirect labor. Introduced preventive and predictive maintenance concepts including thermal imaging procedures, scheduled lubrication programs. Designed, built, and installed new control system and mechanical components for steel coil re-winder, saving $400,000 vs. new.

In addition to furnace optimization, I was responsible for production maintenance at the Tipp City, Ohio facility. Achievements included:Developed process improvements allowing the avoidance of $2 million in new capital investment.Designed, purchased, and installed equipment to reduce utility usage by $200,000 per year. Managed all facets of production maintenance department, including Capital budgeting, expense controlling, assurance of equipment availability, implementation of PM systems.
