About Shawn Nolan

Starting in the Entertainment Industry, Shawn's desire to understand problem solving in a more formal fashion led him to structural engineering. Working in that field since 1997, Shawn founded the Entertainment Structures Group (ESG) at Schaefer, the structural engineering division at Reed Rigging, the structural and mechanical engineering programs at PRG and the process and standards department at Clark Reder Engineering. The Entertainment Division at Schaefer, Clark Reder Engineering and Entertainment and Rigging Engineering are direct results of Shawn's vision to promote structural engineering as an essential component of the maturation of the technical side of the entertainment industry.As a structural engineer and mechanical designer Shawn has been providing consulting and design solutions to the entertainment industry and general industry since 1997. His work has included global special events, building forensics, aluminum specialty structures, hoist analysis and design, rigging systems, steel & wood structural design and associated automation systems.He has been involved with work on Broadway, Fox for the Super Bowl Boulevard on Time Square, the Pan Am Games in Guadalajara, Cirque du Soleil project in Las Vegas and on tour and multiple permanent and temporary structures across the industry.
