My twenty-six years of successful educational experience in rural Title I schools, combined with leading and managing extended day/year activities for struggling children who need support services has given me a strong conviction that learning is a lifetime process fueled by curiosity, goal setting and encouragement. My experiences have taught me that it takes trust, vision, skills, resources, payoff, and an action plan to manage change. Without trust there is sabotage. Without vision from the leader there is confusion. Without the skills to accomplish the change there is anxiety. Without resources there is anger. Without payoff there is only sporadic change. Without a detailed action plan there are false starts. I am a leader that takes the initiative in bringing in fresh ideas to our team and our system as a whole. I believe that the overall environment must be an exciting and satisfying place for all stakeholders. I work diligently to establish positive relationships within systems so we jointly serve as advocates for excellence. My experience has provided me the knowledge that it takes trust, vision, skills, collaboration and communication to excel a system to excellence. I understand that effectiveness from my leadership requires me to consistently analyze the steps to change and collaborate with stakeholders to successfully improve institutions.
