-Assist the Carmel Area Wastewater District with environmental permitting, special-status species surveys and on-site biological monitoring for maintenance projects at the Carmel wastewater treatment plant.-Lead habitat assessment and wildlife surveys for the Monterey County Resource Conservation District's Salinas River Stream Maintenance and Arundo Control programs.-Conduct preconstruction surveys and environmental compliance monitoring for agencies such as California Department and Transportation, Western Area Power Administration, Pacific Gas & Electric and Santa Cruz County. -Support biological monitoring on Fort Ord by conducting protocol-level California tiger salamander and California fairy shrimp aquatic sampling under USACE handling permits. Approved to independently handle larval CTS on Fort Ord relating to munitions remediation. Support vernal pool hydrology monitoring, water quality monitoring and vegetation sampling-Implement the Site-Specific Habitat Restoration Plan on the former Fort Ord for the USACE in compliance with the Fort Ord Habitat Management Plan (HMP) and Biological Opinions. Coordinate and conduct the physical restoration procedures involved in rare maritime chaparral habitat restoration following ordinance removal. -Implement the Site-Specific Habitat Restoration Plan on Fort Ord for the US Army Corp of Engineers.-Conduct and coordinate the physical restoration procedures involved in maritime chaparral habitat restoration. -Responsibilities include: native seed harvesting and storage, native plant propagation (hard-to-grow species such as Manzanita and Chamise), restoration site assessment, vegetation monitoring.

I worked with local schools (K-12) teaching about the local environment leading class field trips on hands-on habitat restoration activities. I lead crews on habitat restoration projects in the maritime chaparral ecoregion on Bureau of Land Management Fort Ord public land. I have been leading groups of volunteers performing a winter and spring bird survey at the Upper Carr Lake restoration site in Salinas, CA. Our protocol consists of walking a defined area throughout a riparian restoration site to inventory avian richness and relative abundance in order to estimate changes in avian diversity. The goal of these surveys is to provide a tool to help ascertain the success of riparian habitat restoration in an urban setting. I also co-authored the Common Birds of Upper Carr Lake Identification Guide used by volunteers and students during bird surveys.
