Provide direction, coaching and support in regards to the interpretation of collective agreement provisions and corporate policies, workforce planning, job and organization design, and performance management. Plan and lead investigatory and disciplinary meetings, grievance hearings/discussions, and participate in labour management meetings. Some accomplishments in this role include: developed talent pipeline and strategy for outside maintenance workers, lead evidence provider in termination arbitration (settled outside of arbitration), formalized Canada Summer Jobs hiring program with CUPE 386, and assisted with researching, implementing, testing, and ultimately becoming a user of a new Applicant Tracking Software.Advise on the interpretation and spirit of application of collective agreements, past practice, legislation, HR principles and policies to General Managers, Managers, CUPE Supervisors, and employees. Conduct complex HR/LR investigations, manage the grievance process, and recommend solutions in collaboration with business units. Manage complex disability management cases in an effort to promote return to work options. Lead and advise full cycle recruitment & selection from job evaluation to on-boarding. While with the City of Calgary I supported the following business units: Community Services Protective Services, Utilities and Environmental Protection, and Calgary Police Service. Some accomplishments in this role include: completed the redeployment's of 17 City of Calgary Local 38 employees due to budget adjustments, completed a HR Service Delivery analysis and recommendation of CSPS business unit (changes were implemented), assisted with the Emergency Medical Services staff transition from City of Calgary to Alberta Health Services, analyzed operational deficiencies within Water Construction Services and recommended solutions, and lead a jurisdictional review of 30 management positions. Responsibilities included:Provide strategic advice, recommendations, and support to managers, supervisors, and employees on HR issues.Facilitate the full cycle recruitment and selection process from job evaluation to on-boarding. Research, develop and implement new and existing HR programs.Support managers and supervisors with compensation, employee and labour relations issues.Case manage complex accommodation, performance and attendance issues.

Worked one to one with clients 15-30 in a drop-in employment resource centre to assist them with job searching, career exploration, and employment related needs.
