- Creates engaging, differentiated, rigorous and inquiry-based science lessons tailored to the specific needs of West Mecklenburg students- Incorporates educational strategies (AVID, Peak, Teach Like a Champion) to foster student learning and success - Fosters a classroom environment conducive to learning and promoting higher order thinking and discourse in the classroom- Designs formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning and measure progress toward data goals; assists teachers to use assessment data to effectively drive instruction- Effectively integrates technologies such as Google Classroom, Quizziz, Kahoot, ExploreLearning, Canvas, PearDeck, and Quizlet into classroom curriculum - Schedules and organizes departmental meetings in order to share pedagogical innovations and culturally responsive teaching practices - Supports 40+ new teachers (0 – 3 years) by creating and facilitating professional development sessions centered around improving instruction using Teach Like a Champion techniques and principles of culturally responsive teaching - Coaches and mentors 3-5 individual new teachers to assist them in accomplishing professional goals - Conducts classroom observations of science and new teachers to evaluate the effectiveness of various teaching methodologies - Meets regularly with the School Leadership Team for the purpose of maintain ongoing communication regarding a wide spectrum of school related issues
