Since 2004, I've held a variety of positions in early education. I started as a parent volunteer for my son’s preschool program where I was encouraged to pursue an education in ECE. While working on my AA , I secured a teaching position with Science Adventures, an afterschool enrichment program. As the program grew, I was offered an additional position as an administrative assistant to the area manager. As an assistant I was directly responsible for scheduling, staffing, trainings, enrollment, school recruitment, and staff/parent relations. When they closed the science division in my area I decided to relocate to Murrieta, so my kids could live near their grandparents.Since moving to Murrieta in 2010, I have worked as an educator for the School Readiness program at the Murrieta Valley USD as a teacher’s assistant, a lead teacher and a program lead and a program supervisor. As a teacher I took on the responsibility of PLC leader and MTA representative advocating for the Child Development Teachers. As program lead I participated in the districts Leadership Academy, professional development modules and served as negotiations representative for the Child Development Teachers. As Supervisor I was a part of the districts Aspiring Administrators Leadership training. While working for MVUSD I have earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Azusa Pacific University, in Human Development with a minor in Early Childhood Education. I have taken and passed the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST), I currently hold a Site Supervisors Permit, issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and I'm enrolled in National Universities Multiple Subject Credentialing program with a Masters in Education. As an educator, assistant, program lead and administrator, my greatest strength has been interpersonal relations. I believe building relationships is an essential part of creating an atmosphere that fosters the trust and respect needed to make a successful team. When staff members feel like they are part of a collaborative team and they're valued it fosters a positive learning environment and exceptional educational experiences for the children they care for.My vast array of roles have taught me to be flexible, remain focused and given me the discernment needed in the public relations and time management aspects of my job. As with any position I have held in the past, I approach every job as an opportunity to learn, and one that will lead to career advancement and discovery.
